Vertical Escape Chut is a device that aids mass and rapid escape from high-rise buildings. An escape chut is capable of evacuating 375 people from high-rise buildings in 15 to 20 minutes.
Whenever possible, Escape Chut Systems recommend the use of a normal stairwell and offer an escape chut as an alternative for emergency exit. However, if the stairwell is blocked or filled with smoke, an effective and rapid alternative emergency exit means in such cases are Escape Chuts. Escape Chuts can also be used by disabled and blind people after a short period of training. In addition, one person can enter the escape stairwell, slide down by carrying another injured person on their shoulders and thus evacuate the injured person. Escape Chut can be installed in most structures and require a clean drop from the evacuation point to ground level.
